Will Huff and Robbie Brown Earn Weekly Conference Awards

Due West, SC- Sophomore's Will Huff and Robbie Brown were selected as the Conference Carolinas baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively for the second week of the 2012 season.

Huff had an outstanding week at the plate, going 9 for 19 with three home runs and 11 RBI while slugging 1.21% to help the Flying Fleet go 4-1 on the week. The Sugar Hill, GA native started the week off going 3-5 with a home run and three RBI against Brevard on Tuesday. His three run home run in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the game winner in the 11-8 victory that gave Head Coach Kevin Nichols his 400th career win. On the weekend, Will was 6 for 14 with two home runs, a triple, and eight RBI to help lead the Fleet to three wins over Stillman.

In his first start of 2012, Brown came out and dominated a Stillman team that previously had 20 hits in the first two games of the series. The left-handed sophomore from Dillon, SC would allow just two hits in seven innings of work while striking out seven in the complete game 10-0 shutout. Brown would allow only two runners to even get into scoring position and got the Tigers to hit into three double plays on the day. Erskine currently stands at 4-2 overall on the season.
