Due West, S.C. – Erskine’s
Corin Hallman (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Week during week ten of the 2012 – 2013 Tennis season according to a recent release by the conference office.
Hallman led the Flying Fleet to a perfect 4-0 record this week, including a 5-4 win over archrival Anderson University. Hallman delivered a dominating win at #1 singles to propel the Fleet to the win. Her only blemish of the week was an 8-6 loss at #1 doubles to Anderson. The next day Hallman picked up two more wins against Limestone. On Wednesday against Pfeiffer , Hallman again posted a dominating win at #1 singles as well as a win at #1 doubles to secure the Fleet's third consecutive conference regular season title and the eighth title in the last nine years. On Saturday, Hallman picked up two additional wins to keep Erskine perfect in conference play at 10-0.
For the season, Hallman was undefeated within the conference in singles play while losing just one match in doubles. It is the second time this season that Hallman has been recognized as player of the week.
Erskine enters the conference championship tournament this week as the #1 seed.
