Box Score Due West, S.C. – Behind 14 kills from senior
Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School), the Erskine Flying Fleet swept the Barton College Bulldogs 3 to 0 tonight in the quarterfinal round of the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament at Belk Arena.
The Flying Fleet dominated two of the three sets in route to the win. In the first and third sets, the Fleet triumphed by the same score of 25 to 15.
The second set proved to be most difficult. After cruising to a ten-point victory in the first set, Erskine required extra points to win the second set after squandering a three point lead. Leading 24 to 21, the Fleet surrendered four unanswered points to trail 24 to 25. The Fleet fought off game point and, with the game tied at 26 to 26, scored the final two points off a Barton service error and a kill from
Kelly Sullivan (Wellington, FL, Wellington Community High School) Sullivan finished with 11 kills and 5 blocks on the night.

Kristen Dodge (Duncan, SC, Byrnes High School) recorded double-doubles to lead the Flying Fleet. In addition to her game-high 14 kills, Bullock also had 10 digs and 3 blocks while Dodge had 33 assists and a team-high 15 digs.
Barton got 8 kills each from Shae Schmidt and Melissa Cochran.
With the win, Erskine as the #1 seed will host the reminder of the championship tournament this Friday and Saturday. Erskine will play Lees-McRae College in the second semi-final game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Limestone College and King University will play in the first semi-final game to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The winners of the two semi-final games will meet on Saturday in the championship game at 6:30 p.m.
