Montevallo, Ala. – Senior Marlee Rhodes (Williamston, SC, Palmetto High School) finished fifth at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Cross Country Meet earlier today hosted by the University of Montevallo.
 
Rhodes completed the 6k course in 22:50 to cross the finish line in fifth place.  With her finish, Rhodes earned 1^st Team All-Region honors and an invitation to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship Meet to be held at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 6^th.
 
Catie Byrd of Queens University won the meet, finishing in a time of 21:56.98, topping her teammate Megan Wright by 21 seconds.
 
Despite Queens University taking the top two spots, the University of Montevallo breezed to the team victory, beating fellow conference member North Georgia by 30 points.  North Georgia clipped Wingate by a single point for second place.  Queens University finished fourth.
