Wingate, NC – After losing the first set, Erskine would rally to win the next three sets to take a 3-1 victory over UNC Pembroke Tuesday afternoon. The Fleet would turn around and play Wingate University, falling 3-0.
Trailing 1-0, Erskine would win the second set 25-21 to tie the match and then win the tihird match 27-25. Needing just one more set to win the match, the Fleet would win the fourth set in decisive fashion 25-15.
Payton Duncan and
Sami Harting each had match highs in kills with 13, while
Marissa Greenough added 11 kills.
Kristen Dodge led all players with 41 assists and
Kendall Kirk and Duncan had 19 and 10 digs respectively.
Against Wingate, Dodge again led all players with 23 assists, while Duncan led the team with 12 digs. Harting had two service aces for the Fleet to go with eight kills.
Erskine returns to action Friday night as they travel to play Flagler College at 7:00 PM
