Due West, SC – The Flying Fleet would score two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 overtime victory over Lander Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action.
After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats would take a 1-0 lead at the 62-minute mark on a goal by Brianna Taylor that was assisted by Kayla Walker. With less than 10 minutes left in the game,
Molly Graham would pass the ball to
Kayla Kieffer who would score her first goal of the season to tie the game at one. Neither team would score the rest of the half and the game would go to overtime. Less than two minutes into the extra period, Kieffer would connect on a corner kick with
Mel Foster who would drive the ball by the goalie and give Erskine the victory. Sophomore
Abbigale Schmidt had an outstanding performance for the Fleet in goal, making a career high 12 saves to pick up the win.
